Dear Colleague
INFLUENZA IMMUNISATION PROGRAMME 2000-2001
ARRANGEMENTS FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE
STAFF
This
letter amplifies the guidance given in HDL(2000)9 by clarifying that the
range of staff to whom influenza vaccination can be offered includes general
medical, dental and pharmaceutical contractors, and their key staff involved
in the delivery of care and support to patients and clients. Immunisation
programmes should continue to be arranged through occupational health
services or resourced alternatively via local arrangements. Supplies of
the vaccine for administration to staff are obtainable from NHS Trust
Chief Pharmacists, who can draw down vaccine supplies according to need
from a centrally held reserve.
Yours sincerely
