Public consultation (MLX 337): Proposals to restrict the availability of medicines containing pseudoephedrine and ephedrine by a change to legal status from pharmacy (P) to prescription only (POM) together with a restriction in pack size

MLX 337 seeks your views on proposals to restrict the availability of medicines containing pseudoephedrine and ephedrine by a change to legal status from pharmacy availability (P) to prescription only medicine (POM), together with a restriction in pack size.  These proposals are being made in response to reports of misuse of these substances in the manufacture of the Class A controlled drug methylamphetamine (commonly known as "crystal meth"). This consultation follows the release of the International Narcotics Control Board Report 2006 on 1 March 2007 (external link).
