Description
Earlier this year, the First Minister announced the intention to declare a Bank Holiday after Scotland’s opening game of the 2026 Men’s Fifa World Cup in order to allow as many people as possible to celebrate the first time the men’s national team has participated in the tournament since 1998.
That proposal has now received royal assent and this letter confirms that Monday 15 June 2026 will be an additional Public Holiday in NHS Scotland. Staff required to work that day will be eligible for the rates of pay and all other terms and conditions applicable on a designated Public Holiday.
